About The Position

Norwalk Hospital of Nuvance Health is seeking a per diem Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their OB/GYN program. This is a new position due to practice growth. The CNMs, supported by OB/GYN hospitalists, take first call and follow up with patients in the office. They also provide First Assist on C/Sections. Norwalk Hospital averages approximately 1,100 deliveries annually and is equipped with a Level II NICU and excellent specialty backup, including Maternal Fetal Medicine and Gyn Oncology. The team of five CNMs handles around 330-400 deliveries per year and provides 24-hour phone triage for the clinic. This employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice covers two offices, and the CNMs also deliver patients from the Norwalk Community Health Center. Norwalk Hospital, established in 1893, is a 366-bed community hospital with a Level II Trauma Center and affiliations with several medical schools. The hospital is recognized as a "Top 50 Hospital" for 2024 by Healthgrades and is part of Nuvance Health, which serves 1.5 million residents across New York and Connecticut.

Requirements

  • Connecticut RN license
  • Master’s degree
  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nurse Midwife program
  • Current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • State of CT RN, Certified Nurse Midwife license
  • CT State Controlled Substance and Federal DEA Registration
  • 2+ years CNM experience

Responsibilities
