About The Position

For more than 50 years, Women’s Specialists of New Mexico (WSNM) has provided compassionate, comprehensive healthcare to women throughout New Mexico. As an established private, physician-owned OB/GYN practice, we are seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our strong and cohesive team of midwives. We are looking for a CNM who is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based women's healthcare and who values being part of a team that is genuinely invested in supporting one another. Requirements

  • Current or eligible for unrestricted New Mexico licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
  • Graduate of a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
  • Current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • New Mexico Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) and Federal DEA registration required
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered women's healthcare
  • Strong communication and collaborative practice skills
  • Must be able to obtain Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience as a CNM preferred; new graduates considered

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope midwifery care in a collaborative practice environment.
  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care.
  • Manage labor and delivery while supporting individualized birth plans and patient preferences.
  • Provide well-woman and preventive care, including family planning, contraception, reproductive health, and care throughout the stages of a woman's life.
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage common obstetric and gynecologic conditions within the CNM scope of practice.
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing and prescribe medications as clinically indicated.
  • Educate and counsel patients to support informed decision-making and evidence-based care.
  • Collaborate closely with WSNM OB/GYN physicians and other members of the clinical team.
  • Participate in shared call coverage, including nights and weekends as scheduled.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation and professional standards.
