About The Position

Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, the Certified Nurse Assistant performs basic patient/resident care activities. The role supports patients with personal care and activities of daily living, reports changes in condition to nursing staff, performs delegated care activities, and helps keep patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.

The position requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment while taking appropriate action.

Requirements

• No degree or other education is required.
• Required Florida AHCA background screening.
• Required Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (ecard or non-ecard).
• Required Certified Nursing Assistant license from the State of Florida.
• Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Report abnormal assessment findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Perform basic patient/resident care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN or LPN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, performing basic phlebotomy, and recording intake and output.
• Help keep patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
