About The Position

North Platte Valley Medical Center is looking for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to join our team in Saratoga, WY. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide nursing care to patients and assist them in daily activities such as bathing, eating, and toileting and other duties within their scope of practice determined by the state of Wyoming. The ideal Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping others. This person must be reliable, empathetic, and be able to work with all types of people.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course or the equivalent.
  • Must hold a Wyoming CNA license and an active BLS certification.
  • Previous hospital experience with acceptable references preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients and assist them in daily activities such as bathing, eating, and toileting and other duties within their scope of practice determined by the state of Wyoming.
  • Instill confidence and trust in patients in a competent and caring manner.
  • Provide hygiene and daily living assistance, including toileting, bathing, and assisting patients with showers.
  • Support the patient with meals as needed.
  • Ambulate, turn, and position patients as required.
  • Maintain any specialized training and, if applicable, perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned patient or area.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and follow policies pertaining to PHI.
  • Work collaboratively as a team.
  • Attend all mandatory departmental and facility wide meetings.
  • Work with long-term care residents and ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Learn the electronic medical record system and ensure documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate to fellow staff as well as the interdisciplinary team for continuity of patient care.
  • Receive and report resident status at the beginning and end of each shift and as needed.
  • Make room checks and verify resident location.
  • Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
  • Perform vital signs, B/Ps, weights and other trained procedures as directed by management.
  • Report all changes in residents’ conditions to the Nursing Supervisor as soon as practical.
  • Prepare residents for meals and assist to and from the dining areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
