Certified Nurse Aide - Skilled Nursing Facility
About The Position
The Certified Nurse Aide provides direct care to patients and residents, including resident hygiene and activities of daily living, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The aide performs direct-care activities that may be delegated to unlicensed personnel under the NYS Practice Act and regulations, hospital policies, New York State Long Term Care Regulations, and Nursing Services standards. The Certified Nurse Aide also performs assigned unit or department support functions as directed by the appropriate Registered Nurse and/or manager. This is a regular, 16-standard-hours-per-week position at CVPH - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital’s Skilled Nursing Facility in Plattsburgh, New York. The scheduled night shift is 10:15 PM to 6:45 AM, with every-other-weekend coverage. It is a bargaining union position.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent must be obtained within two years.
- Completion of a New York State-approved Long Term Care training program and current New York State certification are required.
- Meet pre-employment screening and physical requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant is preferred.
Responsibilities
