Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Rehab
About The Position
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides patient-centered support at UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute, a 40-bed, CARF-accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility in Louisville, Kentucky. The institute provides care across specialties including brain injury, stroke recovery, spinal cord medicine, pediatrics, and movement disorders, using a multidisciplinary approach to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life. The CNA assists nursing staff with activities of daily living, provides emotional support, helps maintain a safe and comfortable environment, collaborates with the care team, and performs more complex clinical tasks under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing personnel. This is a full-time night position scheduled for three 12-hour shifts.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- State Registered Nursing Assistant (SRNA) certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Handle with Care certification required within 30 days of hire and annually.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in an acute or long-term facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff in providing patient-centered care.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide emotional support and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure patients’ needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Perform more complex clinical tasks under the supervision and direction of licensed nursing personnel.
