About The Position

NorthCrest Specialty Care, a 94-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Waterloo, Iowa, is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide. The role is part of Care Initiatives, which operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa. The position offers a full-time weekend package, working 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a competitive hourly rate and shift differential. The aide supports residents’ daily care, wellbeing, health monitoring, and participation in recreational and therapeutic activities while following infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
• Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
• Monitor residents’ health, including conducting routine vital checks.
• Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities that enhance residents’ health and daily routines.
• Follow infection control protocols to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
