About The Position

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC), a single-level facility with 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units, is recruiting a Certified Nurse Aide to provide care to Virginia’s Veterans. The role is scheduled for the overnight shift, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The aide provides resident care according to each resident’s plan of care and activities of daily living record, supports meals and dining hall visits, responds to resident call lights, completes charting, and reports changes in residents’ condition to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Physical ability to turn, bend, and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals and escort them to the dining hall.
• Make regular rounds, answer call lights promptly, and respond courteously.
• Complete required paperwork and computerized documentation for charting assessments.
• Provide residents with care in accordance with their plans of care and ADL records.
• Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
