About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring part-time and full-time Certified Medication Technicians for evening and overnight shifts at its Eastern Shore residential facility. The role provides medical support to clients receiving inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, helping stabilize clients and support their participation in treatment. The technician assists with nursing shift duties, coordinates care with medical and clinical teams, manages medical supplies, arranges appointments and aftercare, and supports pharmacy and prescription authorization needs.

Avenues Recovery Center at Eastern Shore is a 100-bed residential facility on 7.74 acres of secluded property. Its multidisciplinary team includes therapists, clinicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, addictions counselors, and behavioral health technicians. The facility is newly renovated and offers a range of amenities.

Requirements

• CPR certification.
• Valid Maryland licensure to serve as a Medication Technician.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of substance use and its biopsychosocial consequences.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, quality medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to engage fully in treatment.
• Assist with nursing shift duties, including taking vital signs, conducting drug screens, managing medications, charting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to coordinate care.
• Manage, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange aftercare providers for clients after discharge.
• Assist with pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.
