About The Position
PanCare of Florida is expanding its services to include Pediatrics in Panama City and is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their healthcare team. The CMA will provide essential support to medical staff, assist with patient care, and contribute to the smooth operation of the practice. The position is located at the PanCare Pediatrics Clinic in Panama City.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant
- Experience working in a pediatrics setting
- 6 months experience of managing medical records, appointment scheduling, billing and coding
- 6 months of using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
- 6 months of assisting with patient preparation, taking vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, and wound care
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years experience working in a pediatrics setting
- At least 1 year of managing medical records, appointment scheduling, billing and coding
- At least 1 year of using Electronic Medical Record experience
Responsibilities
- Perform routine diagnostic tests, medical treatments, and procedures such as taking and recording temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; changing sterile dressings, giving irrigations and enemas; preparing patients and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Administer medication as directed by the physician.
- Perform collection, documentation, and processing of blood, specimen, and/or urine samples as ordered by the medical provider and/or current standing orders.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid the physician/nurse practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners.
- Maintain the timely flow of patients.
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination by the physician or nurse practitioner. Screen patients for appropriate information. Instruct patients on sample collection and testing.
- Arrange for patient testing and information.
- Formulate and update patient care plans. Order, prepare, and inspect patients’ charts. Post tests and examination results.
- Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
- Participate in CLIA and OSHA compliance and monitoring.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Monitor emergency kit and oxygen tanks as required.
- Monitor and maintain supplies and medication closet.
- Assist in the completion of referrals, diagnostics, and other related tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintain tracking, documentation, and assistance in the completion of Uniform Data System (UDS), Healthcare Effectiveness Data and information set (HEDIS), and Care Gap Measures.
