About The Position

Pharmacy1st Health is building the clinical infrastructure for rural America by transforming independent pharmacies into integrated care delivery hubs. Our model combines primary care, pharmacy services, and chronic disease management under one roof, creating a new, lower-cost site of care for underserved communities. We operate across multiple states and are rapidly expanding a network of rural clinics co-located with pharmacies. Our goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality care while improving access, outcomes, and cost efficiency. About the Role We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support the daily operations of our clinic in Mesick, MI. This role is critical to delivering high-quality, efficient care in a rural community setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the Family Nurse Practitioner and broader care team to ensure a seamless patient experience from intake through follow-up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
  • Comfortable working in a rural healthcare setting with a high degree of autonomy

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
  • Assist the provider during examinations and procedures
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection as needed
  • Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with state guidelines and clinic protocols
  • Manage patient flow, room turnover, and ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and patient communications
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and patient check-in/check-out
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies
