Requirements
- Current Medical Assistant license appropriate for the state in which the Business Unit is located and able to obtain licensure in other states, as required by state law or contract.
- Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage positively with patients and families and to work as a team with staff and providers.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 6 months experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides care for the patient under the physician's direction.
- Prepares patients for exams.
- Assists during treatments.
- Coordinates tests and follow-up care.
- Records treatment in the medical record.
- Assists with explaining patient instructions to the patient/family.
- Demonstrates competency and skills to serve patients of all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Performs other duties as necessary related to front office registration, laboratory testing, and radiology functions within a specialty setting.
- All Sharecare clinicians are required to participate in the orientation and to take the pre and post-tests to review competency during orientation.
- Yearly competency test is required for all Sharecare clinicians.
- Entering patient information in electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant).
- Perform variety of office responsibilities: answering phones, taking messages and assist triage.
