About The Position

Ascension Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for their clinic in Indianapolis, IN, specializing in Vascular Interventional Radiology and Vein Solutions. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves assisting with treatments ordered by providers, performing select clinical duties, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information. Responsibilities also include preparing treatment rooms, performing basic clerical duties such as answering phones and maintaining records, and managing materials by ordering and stocking supplies. The Medical Assistant will assist in maintaining a clean environment and may document provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions. They will also transcribe patient orders for tests and medications.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. Certified or Registered both accepted.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Ability to multitask with a high level of professionalism.
  • Insurance experience is helpful.
  • Position is in a dedicated vein practice that serves both medical and cosmetic health issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse.
  • Perform select clinical duties.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Document the provider's encounter with patients.
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
  • Transcribe patient orders including, but not limited to, laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
