About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will support patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses. You will assist nurses and other healthcare practitioners, applying your education and demonstrated competencies to contribute to the healthcare team and the delivery of high-quality patient care. The role requires collaboration with nursing staff, adherence to established policies and procedures, and a commitment to patient safety, comfort, and infection control. You will also maintain work areas, supplies, and equipment and participate in required staff meetings and training.

Requirements

Successfully complete an accredited CMA course.
Be currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the state if certification is required by the state or facility.
Be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
Reside in the United States.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, following established policies and procedures to deliver quality patient care and using appropriate intervention techniques and safety precautions.
Gather patient histories, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up.
Follow designated work schedules, respond to codes or patient crises in accordance with site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
Apply infection-control techniques and principles to support patients’ emotional and physical comfort and safety.
Maintain work areas, supplies, and equipment.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
