About The Position

Medical Assistants are essential members of Moffitt's clinic teams, contributing to patient care by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on departmental needs. This float mobile role rotates among different units in the Moffitt Ambulatory Center (MAC), assigned outpatient clinics, and other designated patient care areas to support quality care and staffing needs. The position requires travel, as needed, to various Moffitt Cancer Center campuses, including Moffitt Ambulatory Centers and Moffitt Clinics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certification or registration from one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Healthcareer Association (CCMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA).
• Current Moffitt Medical Assistants in a grandfathered unit must receive certification from one of the listed organizations within one year of transfer.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program, applicable military medical training, or active enrollment in a BSN program after completing nursing fundamentals. Students must provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient exams and procedures.

• Rotate among different MAC units, assigned outpatient clinics, and other designated patient care areas.
• Travel to various Moffitt Cancer Center campuses as needed.
