This role involves assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider). The Certified Medical Assistant will also assist with treatments ordered by the provider as supervised by a provider or registered nurse, and perform select clinical duties. Key responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts. The role also requires preparing treatment rooms for examinations, performing basic clerical duties such as answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Additionally, the position involves basic materials management, including ordering and stocking supplies, and assisting with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. The Medical Assistant may document the provider's encounter with patients, listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions. They will also transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
