About The Position

Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for its Riverview office. The practice provides general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, along with diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role suits an experienced medical assistant comfortable with in-office procedures, medical terminology, multitasking, and a high volume of incoming patients. The assistant should be self-motivated and willing to learn about ENT, Allergy, and Audiology.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Current certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting patients with transfers when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgery.
• Prepare examination rooms.
• Assist physicians in examination rooms with procedures as needed, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
• Obtain appropriate consent and ensure the proper scope of practice is followed.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the examination room.
• Travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes when required.
