About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant performs appointment scheduling and patient registration, updates demographic information, and carries out patient-care activities to assist physicians. The role prepares examination rooms, takes and records patient vital signs in medical charts, maintains patient charts, and receives visit co-payments. The position is PRN.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited teaching establishment.
• If not currently certified, obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment.
• Keyboarding skills and aptitude for learning a patient database program.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Commitment to supporting UCH’s standard of medical excellence.

Nice To Haves

• 1 to 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
