About The Position
Sentara Internal Medicine Physicians – 1080 First Colonial clinic is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join its team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role supports providers, delivers hands-on patient care, assists with clinical procedures, and contributes to a positive patient experience. The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient-care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations. Duties are delegated and performed under the direction or supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on the day shift. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualified candidates.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Less than one year of related experience is required.
- Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification from an accredited organization.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of clinical experience, preferably in Endocrinology, a specialty physician practice, or primary care.
