About The Position
Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to assist healthcare professionals at the Minnie Jones Health Center in Asheville, NC. WNCCHS is committed to caring for patients with purpose and integrity and supporting its team members. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, with no evening, night, weekend, or holiday work required for MAs. MAs providing direct patient care have the opportunity to earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 based on quality and productivity measures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Medical Assistant, required
- Current Basic Life Support Certificate, required
- Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- One year experience as Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish
Responsibilities
