About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant or LPN works at RHC Abbeville on a full-time, first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and complete at least one of the listed qualifying medical assisting education or training pathways. The role requires a recognized medical assisting certification, which must be obtained within three months of hire, and the employee must hold and maintain active certification or registry in medical assisting.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Successful completion of at least one qualifying medical assisting education or training pathway: graduation from a medical assisting education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools, or an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education; a Career and Technical Education Health Sciences Program approved by the South Carolina Department of Education; a medical assisting program provided by a branch of the United States military; a U.S. Department of Labor-approved Registered Apprenticeship program in medical assisting; or a training program delivered in whole or in part by a health care employer that aligns to a nationally accredited certification exam.
• Required qualifying training must be completed within the 90-day probationary period, where applicable.
• Post-high-school medical studies and certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMMA).
• Must obtain certification within three months of hire.
• Must hold and maintain active certification or registry in medical assisting.
