About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care and achieve desired patient outcomes. The position is in the Surgery - Maxillofacial cost center at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). It is a regular employee role scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• At least six months of CMA/RMA experience.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, NAHP, or NCCT as a medical or clinical medical assistant, using a credential listed in the posting.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Ability to perform the listed physical and sensory functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
• Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
