About The Position

This role involves performing direct clinical activities under the direction of a physician, Charge RN, or Manager. Responsibilities include patient intake, blood draws, pharmacy calls, EKGs, and other physician-required tests. Accurate documentation in an EMR system is essential, adhering to licensure and VMG policies. The role also requires performing front desk activities such as greeting patients, registering them, ensuring insurance compliance, and collecting payments. Maintaining the daily patient schedule, answering calls, scheduling appointments, handling medication refills, and relaying inquiries are key duties. Coordination with clinical staff for patient needs and flow is also expected, along with supporting the practice and professional staff as directed by the Practice Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey.
  • Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners (AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
  • Completion of formal coursework in office management, database management, or business.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Six (6) months of previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experience required.
  • Ability to use effective organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office or outpatient setting preferred.
  • BCLS certification preferred upon hire, will be required.
  • Understanding of the operations of a medical practice preferred.

  • Strong communication--both oral, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities
