About The Position

This role demonstrates basic knowledge in the areas of decontamination, prep and packing, sterilization, sterile storage, and patient care. The technician will adhere to safety standards, identify manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to manufacturer's IFU for all general instrumentation, and determine, prepare, and use supplies required in the assembly process. They will also identify, inspect, and assemble general instruments, checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets, and package and label instrumentation. The technician will safely operate sterilization equipment, perform verification and documentation of the sterilization process, and conduct high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to safety standards.
