This position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, transporting and handling soiled and sterile items with appropriate traffic flow, and identifying, responding to, and reporting malfunctions and/or alarms. The role involves performing efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment, and identifying manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to manufacturer's IFU for various types of instrumentation. Additionally, the technician will perform flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD), determine and prepare supplies for the assembly process, and identify, inspect, and assemble general and specialty instruments, checking for cleanliness and functionality. Packaging and labeling instrumentation following standards, and safely determining sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of the sterilization process are also key responsibilities. The role includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
