This position is responsible for identifying, responding to, and reporting malfunctions and alarms. The role involves performing efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment. Key duties include manual and mechanical cleaning according to manufacturer instructions for use (IFU) for various types of instrumentation, including general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, and power instruments. The technician will also perform flexible scope processing using High Level Disinfection (HLD), determine and prepare necessary supplies for the assembly process, and inspect, assemble, and check general and specialty instruments for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation according to standards are also required. Additionally, the role involves safely determining sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance, with verification and documentation of the sterilization process. This includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
