This position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, identifying, responding to, and reporting malfunctions and/or alarms. The technician performs efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment. Key duties include manual and mechanical cleaning of various types of instrumentation according to manufacturer instructions for use (IFU), and performing flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD). The role involves determining, preparing, and using supplies for the assembly process, as well as identifying, inspecting, and assembling general and specialty instruments, checking for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation according to standards is also a core responsibility. The technician will safely determine sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance, with verification and documentation of the sterilization process. This includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
