This full-time position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, identifying and responding to equipment malfunctions and alarms, and performing efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment. The role involves manual and mechanical cleaning of various types of instrumentation, including general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, power, and instrumentation, following manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU). The technician will also perform flexible scope processing using High Level Disinfection (HLD), determine and prepare necessary supplies for the assembly process, and identify, inspect, and assemble general and specialty instruments, checking for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation according to standards, and ensuring the functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of sterilization equipment with documentation are key duties. The role also includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
