This position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, transporting and handling soiled and sterile items with appropriate traffic flow, and identifying, responding to, and reporting malfunctions and/or alarms. The role involves performing efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment, identifying manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to manufacturer's IFU for various types of instrumentation, and performing flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD). The technician will determine, prepare, and use supplies for the assembly process, inspect and assemble general and specialty instruments checking for cleanliness and functionality, and package and label instrumentation following standards. Additionally, the role requires safely determining sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of the sterilization process, as well as performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature sterilization.
