About The Position

Samaritan is seeking a compassionate Certified Home Health Aide to provide expert care to assigned hospice patients in private homes and/or healthcare facilities. The position is full-time and pays $18.75–$22.00 per hour, based on years of experience. The aide implements the plan of care under the direction of a registered nurse, documents care in electronic software, and may travel to patient homes and facilities throughout the service area. The role requires working every other weekend and two holidays per year.

Samaritan is a locally based, not-for-profit provider of home-based primary care, palliative care, hospice care, social connections, grief support, education, and advocacy. It has served the South Jersey community since 1980.

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification or license.
• Driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the service area.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work every other weekend and two holidays per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to assigned hospice patients in private homes and/or healthcare facilities.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, ambulation, and repositioning.
• Implement the plan of care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Perform light housekeeping in the patient area when needed.
• Document patient care in electronic software.
• Travel to assigned patient homes and facilities.
• Represent Samaritan positively to patients, families, and the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
