About The Position

SOVAH Health - Danville is seeking a full-time Certified Central Sterile Technician to collect, decontaminate, store, and distribute all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. This role involves monitoring and performing antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing, processing and documenting sterile supplies and equipment, accounting for instruments and supplies during surgery, and operating departmental equipment safely. The hospital is a 250-bed facility and an academic teaching site, committed to empowering a diverse and determined workforce.

Requirements

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• High school equivalent or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Continually accounts for the number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
