About The Position
Select Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate PRN Certified Athletic Trainer to provide care in West Hartford, Connecticut. The trainer will coordinate access to additional health care for athletes and patients. This is a per-diem/PRN role with hours that vary as needed, paid at $45.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA-BOC) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Applicable state license where required.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
- Determine the need for and administer appropriate athletic training techniques before and during games or practices to reduce injury risk. Techniques may include taping, wrapping, bracing, hydration guidance, and minor wound care.
- Assess the effectiveness of athletic training and rehabilitation techniques, and record changes based on athlete response within the specified plan of care.
- Manage emergency incidents and coordinate EMS and acute care procedures, including basic life support, to reduce the impact of an injury on an athlete’s function.
- Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events, such as races and club team events, to promote the company.
