About The Position

Provide sports medicine services at secondary schools and community sporting events. There may also be opportunities to assist in a clinic under a Physical Therapist’s supervision by administering treatments and rehabilitation exercises. The role includes educating patients and families about injury prevention and rehabilitation, serving as a liaison among coaches, athletes, parents, and physicians, and maintaining compliance with state laws and Athletic Trainer practice guidelines. The Athletic Trainer supports a positive team environment in clinic and outreach settings and keeps treatment areas, equipment, and supplies clean and organized.

Requirements

• NATABOC certification as an Athletic Trainer.
• Licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of application.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to work closely with school staff and administration, parents, athletes, area health care providers, and clinic staff to build and maintain morale and work relationships.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an autonomous environment.
• Basic PC skills and knowledge, including electronic medical record (EMR) systems, database software, and MS Office.
