About The Position
The Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) - PRN reports to the Sports Medicine Manager and provides athletic trainer coverage on an as-needed basis for local affiliate high school, club, collegiate, or professional teams, as well as local tournaments and community-based sports-related events. The role works under the general supervision of a physician, physical therapist, physician assistant, and/or nurse practitioner. The position requires weekend and evening availability to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events. It involves working with a wide range of age groups, from school-age adolescents to adults and geriatric individuals, and adjusting verbal and non-verbal communication to interact effectively with them.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college with a BS/BA.
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
- Licensure as an Athletic Trainer by the South Carolina LLR Board of Medical Examiners; the posting also states certification as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Ability to adjust verbal and non-verbal communication to interact appropriately and effectively with school-age adolescents, adults, and geriatric individuals.
- Availability for weekend and evening hours to cover practices, games, tournaments, and special events.

- Master's degree in Athletic Training.
