About The Position
NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide care for athletes at contracted schools and coordinate access to additional health care for student athletes. The position supports contracted school districts in and around Central Minnesota and the Twin Cities. Coverage needs are matched with the trainer’s availability to create a schedule. This is a per-diem/PRN role with variable hours as needed and compensation of $28.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
- National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Applicable state license where required.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement therapeutic programs to rehabilitate injured athletes.
- Determine the need for and administer appropriate athletic training techniques before and during games and practices to reduce injury risk. Techniques may include taping, wrapping, bracing, hydration guidance, and minor wound care.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of athletic training and rehabilitation techniques, and record changes based on the athlete’s response within the specified plan of care.
- Manage emergencies and coordinate EMS and acute care procedures, including basic life support, to reduce the impact of an athlete’s injury on function.
- Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events, such as races and club-team events, to promote the company.
