About The Position
NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide care for athletes associated with contracted schools and/or professional teams and coordinate access to additional health care. The role supports partners in and around the Greater Philadelphia area and offers opportunities in high school, college/university, and outreach settings. Athletic Trainers work with other Athletic Trainers, Sports Physical Therapists, and Sports Medicine Physicians. This is a PRN/Per Diem position with hours that vary as needed, paying from $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree.
- National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA-BOC) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Applicable state license where required.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement therapeutic programs to support injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
- Determine the need for and administer appropriate athletic training techniques before and during games and practices to reduce injury risk, including taping, wrapping, bracing, hydration, and minor wound care.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of athletic training and rehabilitation techniques and document changes based on the athlete’s response within the specified plan of care.
- Manage emergency incidents and coordinate EMS and acute care procedures, including basic life support, to reduce the impact of an injury on an athlete’s function.
- Seek outreach opportunities and participate in promotional events, such as races and club-team events.
