Center Store Manager-Lucky(Alameda County)
About The Position
The Center Store Manager ensures customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective day-to-day management of Center Store operations and merchandising. The role oversees product and department conditions—including back room and shelving conditions, inventory, schematics, and pricing—to optimize sales, profits, and customer satisfaction. The manager provides leadership and direction to Center Store associates, promotes a culture reflective of Lucky’s mission and winning behaviors, and trains and develops associates to support their success and career advancement. The role also manages department performance and productivity to optimize overall store performance.
Requirements
- Two-year college degree, or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.
- Completion of the Assistant Center Store Manager rotation, or two years of equivalent management experience, or current experience in a Bakery Department Manager, Meat Department Manager, or Produce Department Manager role.
- Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.
- Must be forklift certified.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and team-building, customer service, training, organization, math, and administrative skills, including department financial skills.
- Knowledge of department operations and financials, store hazardous materials and food safety rules, products, visual merchandising techniques, use and care of Center Store equipment and tools, and applicable union contractual agreement language.
- Ability to stand and perform other physical movements frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
