About The Position
As a member of the C&S Wholesale Grocers family of companies, SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes grocery and household goods to locations in all 50 states and serves national accounts, grocers, e-commerce retailers, U.S. military commissaries and exchanges, and its own grocery stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers. The Center Store Associate works independently to display and stock products in support of the store’s financial interests. The role also supports a positive guest experience and complies with company safety and food safety guidelines. The position is performed in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise is usually low to moderate; travel requirements vary by assignment. Requirements
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and turning; lifting or moving up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Retail or related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, unloading, and stacking merchandise in the back room.
- Properly fill, rotate, and merchandise shelves, cases, and displays on the sales floor.
- Notify the manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
- Maintain familiarity with products carried in the departments and their locations in the store.
- Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments.
- Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety guidelines.
- Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
- Follow guest experience guidelines.
- Perform tasks in other departments as assigned based on customer experience needs.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
