About The Position

Grifols is seeking a licensed healthcare professional for a Center Medical Specialist position at a plasma donation center. The role involves evaluating donor suitability, supporting donor safety and education, managing injuries and adverse events, and assisting with employee training and vaccination programs. Work is performed in a plasma center and includes exposure to biological fluids, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold while working in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment is required for relevant tasks.

Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
Hold current CPR certification.
Be able to communicate information and ideas clearly and understand spoken information and instructions.
Work independently and follow oral or written instructions.
Perform a wide range of tasks in response to variable demands and changing conditions.
Communicate sensitive information to diverse groups.
Meet the position's physical and sensory demands, including frequent hand and foot movement; occasional bending, walking, and twisting; lifting up to 50 pounds; and the specified vision and hearing capabilities.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Protect donor and staff confidentiality.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Provide donor education about general health and counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate illness and medication histories to determine continued donor suitability.
Assist with employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
