About The Position

Grifols is hiring a Center Medical Specialist for a plasma donation center. The role involves assessing donor suitability, supporting donor well-being and satisfaction, maintaining confidentiality, responding to donor injuries or adverse events, and supporting employee training and vaccination. Work is performed in a plasma center and includes exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold in plasma freezers. Personal protective equipment is required for certain tasks. New graduates are welcomed.

Requirements

• Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, according to state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Hold current CPR certification.
• Meet the role's physical, sensory, communication, and mobility demands, including light lifting of 15 pounds and a maximum lift of 50 pounds.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
• Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
• Maintain donor and staff confidentiality.
• Promote donor awareness of potential hazards.
• Educate donors about general health and counsel them regarding unacceptable test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
• Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
• Assist with employee training.
• Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
