About The Position
Universal Logistics is hiring Class A CDL owner operators for its intermodal operation. The role primarily involves regional work using intermodal rail freight, with drivers generally home daily. Freight includes high-volume moves from BNSF to Pontiac, Michigan, paying a minimum of $1,500 per qualifying trip, along with other dedicated regional opportunities. Compensation potential is advertised as up to $6,000 per week and varies based on lanes, freight volume, and trips completed. The work involves intermodal containers and rail-yard operations, with no freight handling required. Freight is no-touch, and routes include a mix of drop-and-hook and live load/unload. Occasional overnight runs may be available. Free on-site truck parking is provided. A limited-time $2,500 sign-on bonus is advertised.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Must be an owner operator.
- Safe driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Intermodal experience helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Operate as an owner operator hauling intermodal rail freight.
- Complete regional and dedicated freight moves to and from rail ramps in Illinois and Michigan.
- Perform drop-and-hook and live load/unload work as required.
