Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load-lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Depending on the line of business, drivers provide commercial container pickup, residential waste and recycling collection, or preparation, loading, and transportation of roll-off containers. The work involves navigating congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots; roll-off routes may include tight overhead environments. Drivers may also maneuver wheeled containers weighing more than 1,000 pounds. Skilled backing is essential. Drivers operate safely and reliably in compliance with company safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable laws. They inspect and document assigned vehicles, report safety and service issues, follow assigned routes, complete end-of-day documentation, communicate customer requests and service interruptions, and work with operations personnel to improve route efficiency and meet customer needs. This is a safety-sensitive role subject to applicable drug and alcohol testing. The posting describes a Monday–Friday schedule with a 5 a.m. start time and states that drivers are home daily.
