Waste Management, Inc. (WM)•Bismarck, ND
•$22 - $31

About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load-lift attachments, depending on the line of business and vehicle. They transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Depending on the assignment, drivers collect commercial waste or recyclables from containers, residential household waste or recyclables, or large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. The work involves driving on high-traffic and congested roads and maneuvering in driveways, alleyways, lots, residential settings, and, for some industrial routes, tight overhead environments. Some containers may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be moved to a pickup staging area. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential. The role operates under applicable company safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and local, state, and federal laws. Drivers complete vehicle inspections and documentation, communicate service issues and customer requests, follow assigned routes, leave serviced locations clean, and complete end-of-day documentation. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to safety protocols and applicable drug and alcohol testing. The schedule is Monday through Friday with an early-morning start time. WM notes that drivers are home at night and on weekends.
