About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load lift attachments, depending on the line of business and vehicle type. They transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers pick up containers filled with waste or recyclable material, which may weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be maneuvered to a pickup stage area. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclable material and safely maneuver vehicles in residential environments. Roll-off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. The work may involve congested roads, driveways, alleyways, lots, and, for some industrial routes, tight overhead environments. Skilled backing maneuvers are essential for some routes. The role is safety-sensitive and requires strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and physical. During employment, drug and alcohol testing may include pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable-suspicion checks, and random testing in accordance with regulations and company policies. The listed pay rate is $26 or more per hour, depending on experience. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered; rehires are ineligible if rehired within 365 days of leaving WM. Shift is to be determined based on the hired position. WM describes opportunities for education assistance, paid on-the-job training, and career progression. Benefits may vary by site.
