Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front-, side-, or rear-end load lift attachments, depending on the line of business and vehicle. They transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Depending on the role, drivers collect commercial waste or recyclable material, residential household waste or recyclables, or large mobile open-top and compactor containers. The work includes navigating high-traffic roads, driveways, alleyways, lots, and, on some industrial routes, tight overhead environments. Some containers weigh more than 1,000 pounds and may need to be maneuvered to a pickup staging area; skilled backing is essential for some routes. Drivers must operate safely and reliably while complying with company safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and applicable laws. The role includes vehicle inspections, route and customer service duties, reporting safety or service issues, attending training and meetings, and completing end-of-day documentation. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring compliance with safety protocols and applicable drug and alcohol testing. The posting advertises pay of $26+ per hour, depending on experience, and a $2,000 sign-on bonus subject to a rehire restriction. Shift is to be determined based on the hired position.
