About The Position

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks with front-, side-, or rear-end load-lift attachments, depending on the line of business and truck type. They transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers collect containers from customer locations, which may require maneuvering wheeled containers weighing more than 1,000 pounds. Residential Drivers collect household waste and recyclable material in residential environments. Roll-Off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. The work may involve congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, lots, and tight overhead environments; skilled backing maneuvers are essential for some routes. This is an on-site, safety-sensitive role. Drivers must comply with company safety rules and protocols, applicable laws, and occupational safety requirements. The successful candidate must complete pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and physical, and may be subject to drug and alcohol testing during employment in accordance with government regulations and company policies. The schedule is Monday through Friday with early start times. The expected base pay is $24. Eligible employees receive a competitive compensation package that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, a stock purchase plan, company matching on a 401(k), paid vacation, holidays, and personal days. Benefits may vary by site. WM also describes education assistance, paid on-the-job training, and career progression opportunities.
