About The Position

CK Contractors and Development LLC is seeking a CDL Truck Driver to join their team. This non-exempt position is responsible for loading and hauling material to various job sites and assisting crews as needed. The company has a long history, dating back to 1966, and is a leading construction site development contractor in the Southeast, offering competitive wages and career opportunities.

Requirements

  • CDL Class A license - Must have Tanker Endorsement.
  • 2 or more years of CDL truck experience.
  • Experience hauling bulk liquid.
  • Good driving record and insurable by vehicle insurance company.
  • Ability to safely drive in and out of work areas, including backing up and driving forward.
  • Excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policies and safety standards.
  • Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations.
  • Effective communication with other operators, truck drivers and general laborers is critical, both verbally and nonverbally; this includes the ability to listen to the ideas of others.
  • Reliable transportation to be at work when scheduled.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Periodic evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime hours are expected.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changing situations and priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Must wear proper attire at all times including: safety vests, safety glasses when appropriate, long pants, hard sole/close-toed shoes, and reflect a clean and presentable image.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is necessary to safely and effectively complete work tasks.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Load and haul to and from job sites, in accordance with DOT regulations, and in a safe manner.
  • Practice good, safe driving skills in all operating conditions, following all vehicular safety regulations.
  • Keep the truck clean and fueled daily.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit required paperwork.
  • Navigate to job sites and material sources in a timely manner.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that health and safety standards are met.
  • Perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
  • Maintain attendance at work, including presence at work during regular work hours or other schedules as may be assigned.
  • Acceptance of overtime assignments will also be required based on operational needs.
