About The Position

Airgas National Carbonation (ANC), a specialized Airgas division, delivers CO2 to businesses including restaurants, bars, craft breweries, fast-food locations, and entertainment venues. The Bulk CO2 Driver operates a cryogenic tanker and makes roughly 10 or more deliveries each day to replenish customers’ onsite Microbulk tanks. The route area is Greater New England within a 150-mile radius of Billerica, Massachusetts. Trucks are modern day cabs with automatic transmissions, and the operation uses slip seating. The position is based in Billerica, Massachusetts. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with weekend availability required, and a 5:00 AM start time. Compensation is $30.00 per hour, with overtime availability, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Airgas describes a comprehensive benefits package, with benefits beginning after 30 days of employment.

Requirements

Hold a Class A or Class B CDL with a Tanker endorsement and no air-brake restriction.
Have no more than two traffic convictions or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
Have no driving while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance within the last seven years.
Be able to work in a drug-free environment.
Have one year of CDL driving experience within the last five years, or a certificate of completion from a trucking school completed within the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

Hazmat endorsement at the time of application; candidates willing to obtain it within 60 days of hire will also be considered, with costs fully covered by Airgas.
CO2 or other specialty gas experience; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Safely transfer bulk CO2 from the Airgas truck to the customer’s tank using a hose hookup.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company maintenance checklists.
Keep the route truck in proper, safe working order and coordinate routine or required maintenance in a timely manner.
