About The Position

Ecolab is hiring a Customer Delivery Specialist to deliver bulk chemicals from its private fleet shipping center in City of Industry, California. The role involves safely operating diesel bulk tanker and other delivery vehicles over city highways, mountainous and rolling terrain, and rural roads, typically within a 500-mile radius of the plant. Drivers inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment, comply with DOT and hazardous-material transportation requirements, and follow Ecolab’s verified delivery procedures. Travel may involve occasional overnight deliveries, with drivers expected to be home on weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions and HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
Three years of commercial driving experience compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations during the past three years.
Willingness to travel up to five days per week; home on weekends and holidays.
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Ability to back and parallel park bulk tankers, straight trucks, semi-trucks, and trailers in narrow passages around expensive industrial equipment.
Knowledge of equipment and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT regulations governing hazardous-material transportation.

Responsibilities

Deliver bulk and tanker chemicals to customers.
Safely operate delivery trucks, tank trucks, and over-the-road trucks.
Maintain hours-of-service records using Samsara and/or a paper logbook.
Perform daily and periodic mechanical and safety inspections to keep trucks and equipment safe and operable.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date delivery location maps.
Operate in compliance with DOT regulations and homeland security requirements governing hazardous-material transportation.
Communicate regularly with sales and the supervisor about field problems and safety hazards.
Follow Ecolab Verified Delivery procedures for delivery assignments.
Wear appropriate safety gear during delivery operations.
Keep current on safety techniques and improve driving and safety skills.
Recognize and avoid workplace safety hazards.
