About The Position

Instructor needed to teach the CDL (Commercial Driver License) A & B classes. Instructor will be responsible for classroom training, giving assessments, managing all required paperwork for the DMV for the students and paperwork for the college, observing and training in the field/parking lot (off road) and on the highway (on road). Instructor will assist Director of Occupational Extension (OE) with management of CDL program (helping with information as it relates to required equipment maintenance, DMV requirements and reporting, advising and assisting students with all requirements). Requirements

Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution (or equivalent combination of education and experience such as truck driving experience and truck driving certificate)
Be at least 21 years of age
Three years of experience driving a tractor-trailer
Possession of a valid NC Class A Commercial driver’s license (or possession of a valid out-of-state CDL and agreement to obtain a NC CDL within sixty (60) days of hire in accordance with NC DOT residency requirements) and maintenance of license for duration of employment (in accordance with NC DOT regulations)
Possession of a clean driving record for past three years at time of hire and maintenance of a clean driving record for duration of employment (in accordance with NC DOT regulations)
Successful completion of a DOT physical examination upon hire
Successful completion of the DMV skills test administered by a third party
